ABAF National Encouragement Award
TYPP recently won a prestigious national award.
ABAF β the Australia Business Arts Foundation β awarded RACT Insurance, and its principal partner in the program, Tasmanian Regional Arts, the national Encouragement Award. ABAF seeks to promote relationships between the Australian business and arts communities.
2009 was the second year of the Tasmanian Youth Portraiture Prize, which was instigated by RACT Insurance and operates in partnership with Tasmanian Regional Arts, Clemenger Tasmania, RACT Travelworld and GEON.
Accepting the Award in Brisbane, The Chief Executive of RACT Insurance, Trent Sayers, said the Portraiture Prize was designed to do a number of things. βIt provides a platform for aspiring young Tasmanian artists, it helps to build a body of uniquely Tasmanian portraiture works reflecting our society in the early 21st century, and it also celebrates the heroes who live in every Tasmanian community.β

(Left to Right) Mr Lee Cole, President, Tasmanian Regional Arts Inc; Presenter: Councillor Jane Prentice, Chairman, Public and Active Transport and Economic Development, Brisbane City Council; Mr Trent Sayers, CEO, RACT Insurance.
