My Brother, acrylic on canvas

My brother, not yet a man but no longer a boy, is moody, confused and unpredictable. He has not yet found himself and does not have the confidence to be more than any of his peers, hence the beanie to cover his ginger hair. I chose to depict Luke in his favourite dark hoody looking over his shoulder, his expression a symbol of teenage angst. I wanted the dramatic lighting across his face to represent the split personality of his adolescent mood swings.
