Alexandra Noyman, Burnie
Bella, charcoal

This is a portrait of my friend Isabella Patton.
Isabella’s character is simply unique and is always bursting with life. If you can rely on someone to start a conversation, she is the perfect person. A quality I love about Isabella is her inquisitiveness. When I asked if I could draw her she said “Yes! Go for it! But what for?” I tried to capture this quality in the picture. Her big eyes suck you into her world of wonder. Charcoal was the first medium that came to mind. I love working with charcoal; it has texture and a certain strength to it. I thought charcoal would brilliantly display Isabella’s strength and dig into her contagious soul.
