Tyson Warbrooke – Self-Portrait

My work has been a personal response to the experience of being in the urban environment. For me the relentless movement of people, constant expansion of the skyline and pressures of identity projected through fashion and commercial imagery are alienating and disorientating. To express and challenge these feelings I explored the relationship between my own personal layers and the layers of history that comprise the urban environment in order to find a sense of unity within a space that is mostly abrasive.
