Agnieszka Sikorska-Meikle – My Contemporary Fairytale
Once upon a time, he came from a land far away. My prince charming didn’t ride into my life on a white horse wearing shining armour intending to save me. He walked into his regular coffee shop, wearing far too little for the weather, to buy his morning coffee and found a new girl behind the counter. The first sight of me, he later confessed, revealed the reason for him living in the hated megalopolis of London. Bureaucracy raised its ugly head and stepped into our path when he tried returning to his lost island paradise with an Eastern European girl pregnant with his child. He eventually slew the beast and we boarded a big steel bird that flew into the sunset and landed in paradise. Tasmania provided a kiss that woke a sleeping passion for painting.
